History of the Conference....

The idea of holding an international forging congress every three years was first conceived at the beginning of the 1950’s. After Euroforge was founded in 1953 by the national forging associations of Britain, France and the German Federal Republic, the first international forging congress took place in the same year in Birmingham, England.

The aim of this first meeting was to encourage greater understanding between peoples after the turmoil of the second world war, and to encourage co-operation and exchange of ideas among the international forging fraternity.

In the first few years, the congresses were held in the founder countries of Euroforge. After few years this congress was held outside Europe with a rotation policy of Europe – America – Asia. Last time the congress held in India was in 1990.

After 20 years, the international forging congress is again scheduled in India at Hyderabad International Convention Center, Hyderabad, India between 13th and 17th November 2011.
